Feels: A New Era in Social Impact Gifting

Feels reimagines gifting by allowing recipients to choose from over 1.5 million charities, supporting causes that resonate with them. While it’s ideal for personal and corporate gifting alike, Feels’ Go-To-Market strategy focuses on corporate clients. Traditionally, companies have gifted physical items to mark birthdays, milestones, and other recognitions—items that often go unused. Instead, Feels enables companies to gift meaningful donations that employees can direct toward causes they care about, boosting morale, engagement, and work satisfaction in a socially impactful way.

Partnering with Mayfly for a Ground-Up Redesign

Founders Caitlin Knoepp and Chase Mattison, based in New Orleans, initially pursued a complex approach to building Feels. They explored a custom app with physical gift cards but encountered key points of friction. After learning from these challenges, they sought Mayfly’s expertise to reimagine the platform from the ground up, removing obstacles and focusing on a streamlined, value-driven user experience.

Mayfly’s strong background in social impact tech, demonstrated through projects like VOLI, made the team a natural choice for Caitlin and Chase. Together, they refined the product to emphasize simplicity and ease, aiming to make the process of giving and receiving Feels as frictionless as possible.

Creating a Seamless Gifting experience

Mayfly collaborated closely with Feels to develop a user-friendly platform that optimizes the gifting experience. Through workshops and user testing, they designed a simplified, intuitive interface and incorporated innovative features that support Feels’ mission:

  • Givinga Integration: By integrating Givinga, Feels gained access to hundreds of charities, allowing users to choose from a broad range of causes. This diverse selection strengthens Feels’ value proposition as a socially responsible gifting platform.
  • Custom Payment Solution with Stripe: Mayfly developed a custom Stripe integration that supports multiple payment forms, including Apple Pay, credit cards, and ACH transfers. This flexibility streamlines the giving process, removing barriers for users across devices and payment preferences.
  • Minimal Friction, Maximum Impact: The platform’s design prioritizes low-friction interactions, ensuring a seamless experience from gift selection to donation. Feels is optimized for Time to Value, with efficient onboarding, quick gifting processes, and minimal steps between donor intent and charitable impact.

Using low-code tools like Bubble.io, Mayfly’s build balanced cost-efficiency with powerful functionality, delivering a solution that is simple yet robust.

With Mayfly’s support, Feels transformed its bold idea into a seamless, user-friendly platform that prioritizes social impact. Through its innovative “Givting” model, Feels is making meaningful, sustainable gifting accessible for everyone, one donation at a time.
